Regina's retail shopping hours are generally from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 or 6:00
p.m. Monday through Saturday. Many shopping malls and stores are open evenings
until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Most large retailers
(like Wal-Mart) and grocery stores (Superstore, Safeway, Extra Foods) are open
until 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Malls offer Sunday shopping from
12:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the store owner's discretion.
Market Square
The main shopping district in Regina is the Market Square area, found in the
heart of downtown. This area is nestled between the Regina Casino (by the
railway tracks) on the north, and 13th Ave on the south. The East to West
boundaries are Osler Street to Angus Street. This area in downtown Regina has
more than 700 retail stores, services, theatres, restaurants and other
attractions. Also downtown is Southern Saskatchewan's largest shopping mall,
the Cornwall Centre.
Cathedral Village
This area, just west of downtown is a charming, friendly turn from the large
department stores. The neighbourhood has plenty of parking and is full of
funky, unique, one-of-a-kind shops. This is where you find many of Regina's
"alternative" shops for merchandise, herbal healing, services, and gifts.
Victoria East
This is the busiest, most booming area of the city. Located along the Trans
Canada Highway, this district has a large mall, several big-box retailers and
home centres, and many smaller stores and hotels. Currently,. 40-60 stores
and restaurants are on a waiting list to open up on Victoria East, so it is
growing, and getting bigger and better. Every time you drive by, you will
notice something new, or something being built. It has become almost a city
in itself.
Albert Street
Albert Street is Regina's answer to Yonge Street in Toronto. It runs from one
end of the city to the other, and a drive up and down Albert will satisfy all
your shopping needs. Little stores, big stores, and three malls--you name it,
Albert Street has got it.
