Transportation: Regina's Airport, YQR
Regina International Airport, or "YQR" (its international aeronautical designation) was Saskatchewan’s first licensed
airport, having been opened in 1923, soon after fliers returned home from
World War One. Regina's airport handles 826,506 passengers and 51,800 aircraft movements a year (2005). The terminal is 7 kilometres southeast of downtown, directly west of the Legislature.
For those on a budget, you can (almost) take public transit which passes close by the airport, though not into the terminal.
