Nearby: Coronach

This town is nestled close to the US border, just west of Highway 6 from Regina. The area along the US border lies along a coal seam that lies close enough to the surface to be strip mined. The seam continues further east, near Estevan. The area has a number of interesting natural features including the Outlaw Caves and some native burial sites.

The town was founded in 1926 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, and named by its English settlers after a horse that won the Epsom Derby.

Annual events include the Coronach Agricultural Fair (July) and the Poplar River Rodeo (September).
